The theme for the 2019 World AIDS Day on December 5th was “Communities make a difference” and for their complementing report UNAIDS had designed a communication strategy around the strong one-liner “Power to the People”.
Phoenix Design Aid assisted UNAIDS with development of a visual concept to complement this strong call and provided design and layout of the 100-pages long report and an abridged version.
Each chapter would focus on different kinds of power — the power to choose, the power to know, the power to thrive, the power to demand — and throughout the report, and in combination with the main copy and data findings, we featured case studies and community voices showcasing that power in fact rests in the hands of the people.
