Description

Phoenix Design Aid had the great pleasure of supporting the design and development of a Virtual Learning Database Platform for Social Learning in the partnership between FSC, FSC Indigenous Foundation (FSC-IF), IPARD and USAID.

The platform is built with the main aim to become a one-stop source for information about Indigenous people and initiatives around the world, to improve and increase knowledge sharing, to create linkages among Indigenous Peoples and stakeholders at sub-national, national, regional and global levels.

Phoenix Design Aid delivered a dynamic and user-friendly platform which is built around reports, publications, trainings, GIS data, lessons learned, etc. on a global level. To meet different languages, the main aim was to build the website in four main languages: English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. The website is developed using Google Translation, which allows selection of any needed language.

Information architecture and UI/UX design is created upon research and investigation of users, understanding of content and the knowledge shared. The website is developed using Drupal 9 for the platform, while Moodle is used for the E-learning platform – both with separate URLs.

After the completion of the main project, Phoenix Design Aid also supported the hosting and maintenance of the server and software to ensure security, updates and improvements.
