Danish design company celebrates its 10th anniversary

10 years have passed since the Danish design company Phoenix Design Aid established itself as a global provider of expert knowledge within production planning, graphic services and guidance through all stages of the printing process.

Based on numerous years of experience from the printing industry, Managing Director Dennis Nielsen, decided that 2006 would be the start-up year of Phoenix Design Aid, thus meeting the growing demand for cost-effective management and administration of complex graphic production tasks among global organizations such as the UN, EU, African Development Bank and World Bank in Washington. With Dennis’ decision to pursue this path followed an ambition to become Scandinavia’s leading supplier within cost efficient design implementation, design management and production management.

Ever since its launch, PDAid has steadily increased its activities with the extension of an impressive customer base. The company’s success is the result of a solid network of suppliers and partnerships, thus enabling the supply of attractive climate and environmental alternatives. In addition, PDAid has distinguished itself in being the world’s first graphics company to receive certification within CSR – also known as a DS 49001 under the international guideline ISO 26000. Similarly, PDAid has achieved certification within quality and environment. As a natural extension of the close cooperation with UN-based organizations worldwide, the company continues to prepare annual reports on its progress for the program UN Global Compact at Advanced Level. As such, the high level of accountability within CSR, quality and environment constitutes a determining factor in PDAid’s company profile.

Over the years, PDAid has focused determinedly on developing jobs and improving the environment in developing countries through initiatives and direct support for socioeconomically disadvantaged people. These efforts have resulted in an impressive profile within social responsibility.

– At Phoenix Design Aid we take our social responsibility seriously. It is precisely this attitude that has created the company’s unique market position among critical customers such as the UN, EU, African Development Bank and World Bank in Washington. CSR is deeply embedded in our DNA, and our customers’ CSR constitutes a cornerstone of our business profile – Managing Director, Dennis Lundø Nielsen

In the wake of a touching experience, which Dennis Nielsen and his wife Pia Nielsen were met with during their climb to the summit of Kilimanjaro in 2014, it was decided to create the PDAid Foundation. The foundation aims to support young disadvantaged Africans through a development program, which offers training and mentorship. The PDAid Foundation was successfully launched in 2015 with a long-range objective to equip the young mentees with the means necessary for them to become agents of sustainable development within their local communities. The foundation is very much network based, and originates from the close cooperation with the Kilimanjaro Initiative – a Kenyan NGO, which works to improve the conditions for young people in Africa.

Much has happened since the Danish company acquired its first international tender for the European Foundation for the improvement of living and working conditions of Dublin. Today PDAid represents a global service company with a wide range of graphic services and digital solutions for customers around the globe.

– Our 10 years of experience in providing project management and graphic services to customers worldwide, makes us specialists in acting between different cultures.
We have continuously expanded our representation of the world through supplier networks, remote offices and close collaboration with embassies around the world – Managing Director, Dennis Lundø Nielsen

In an increasingly digitized world, PDAid has spent the recent years boosting its digital skills, which has resulted in a strong market position. It has proven to be a good decision to sharpen the focus on the digital design and development, and the future looks bright for the Danish SME with the global vision.
