Annually, the United Nations Collaborative Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries (UN REDD Programme) delivers a report on its cumulative achievements and progress since the Programme’s launch in 2008 with its efforts focused on country demand for technical assistance for REDD+ implementation and its support to commitments un the 2015 Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
UN REDD came to Phoenix Design Aid requesting a new approach to the design and layout of their reports with the intention of having the first year’s design and layout be the basis for a template for the 2018 and 2019 Annual Reports layouts. With an emphasis on imagery and creative use of graphic elements, Phoenix Design Aid laid out an eye-catching report that has made use of impactful photography to invite the reader in and engage in report results. The report was supplemented by French and Spanish versions of the Executive Summary, emulating the cover and style of the report for recognizability. As a follow up, for the 2018 Annual Report, Phoenix Design Aid was asked to develop a web publication reflecting it’s laid out equivalent. The reports are only available in digital format.
