Report and promotional materials (a flyer, poster and kakemono).
Copy-editing and proofreading, graphic design, layout and formatting and final delivery of print-ready and web-optimized PDF documents.
The Second Continental Report on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 and the Continental Education Strategy for Africa (CESA 16–25) is a joint initiative by the African Union Commission (AUC), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
Building on the first edition launched in 2023, the second report – titled “Transforming learning and skills development in Africa” – presents a critical assessment of Africa’s progress towards inclusive, equitable and quality education.
Phoenix Design Aid was entrusted with the full editorial production, visual development and final delivery of the report and its executive summary. The scope included meticulous copy-editing for language clarity, consistency and compliance with UNESCO’s editorial guidelines; graphic design of visual elements including the cover page (three concepts), infographics and in-text illustrations; and the creation of a compelling layout that enhances readability and impact.
The assignment further involved the design of promotional materials (specifically a flyer, poster and kakemono) to support advocacy and dissemination efforts, all aligned visually with the report branding.
An essential part of the process included proofreading the final deliverables to ensure that the edited Word version matched the designed PDF, verifying graphical accuracy and ensuring high standards of typographic and formatting consistency.
The final product serves as a high-value communication tool for continental stakeholders, helping inform policy, drive dialogue and promote the transformative vision of SDG 4 and CESA 16–25 across Africa.
