Video and narrative about Mural 500.
Narrative of the process of creation and production of murals, video production and video editing.
In August 2019, the City of Panama celebrated its 500th anniversary. With support from UNDP Panama, “The commission of the 500 years of the Foundation of the City of Panama” developed the project “Mural 500”. It is an urban art project which consisted of painting murals in 26 districts of Panama by local artists as a tribute to communities’ stories and residents. The community was involved in the process.
Phoenix Design Aid participated in meetings with the residents of the 26 communities in order to write their narrations and produce a publication for “Library 500 Years”. We also produced, filmed and edited a video about the project and four video interviews with the artists and residents explaining the story behind each mural.
UNDP Panama supports the commission as a strategic partner in the implementation of activities and projects.
