Description

The World Health Organization (WHO) works to promote health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable. Risk Communication, Community Engagement and Infodemic Management (RCCE-IM) is a unit and area of work under WHO that manages RCCE-IM in health and humanitarian emergencies through, for example, technical support, capacity-building, evidence generation and advocacy as well as providing a library of science-driven guidance documents, tools, resources, etc.

Phoenix Design Aid was tasked to perform a user-friendly concept for the RCCE-IM’s platform with the aim of creating an environment where key stakeholders (such as WHO RCCE-IM officers, Ministry of Health Communicators, Emergency Responders, health sector staff from international organizations, civil society and emergency response partners) can learn more about risk communication and community engagement according to WHO principles as well as develop their own RCCE-IM plan.

As such, Phoenix Design Aid designed and developed a 10-step pre-defined approach which is built as modules on the website, and additionally also designed and developed the database structure, sign-up flow, multi-factor authentication, etc. The design is clean and simple with a particular emphasis on the information of the different steps within the modules.

The platform includes the adaption of technical functionalities to meet the test user feedback provided by RCCE-IM. Major updates were therefore added to the platform end of 2023, including modules, content and functionalities.

Phoenix Design Aid is also supporting WHO with continued updates of the website during 2024 inclusive of upcoming language versions.
