Description

António Guterres, the United Nations Secretary-General, formed a High-Level Advisory Board (HLAB) on Effective Multilateralism to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs.

The Board’s mission was to assess the gaps in the current systems of global governance and identify new areas of focus for international cooperation, guided by the Secretary-General’s report Our Common Agenda, which outlines the multilateral investments required to transition to more inclusive and networked governance.

Phoenix Design Aid was entrusted with creating a conceptual design for the advisory report and a promotional microsite for the HLAB secretariat (based at United Nations University Centre for Policy Research (UNU-CPR)).

A Breakthrough for People and Planet: Effective and Inclusive Global Governance for Today and Tomorrow outlines the Board’s recommendations through six transformative ‘shifts’.

The main goals were to create six distinct and highly adaptable identifying icons that effectively conveyed the six transformative shifts and an overall visual framework that could stand on its own while also integrating the UNU-CPR brand system and the SDG iconography.

The interactive microsite summarizes the Board’s recommendations and key messages and offers access to download the full report or individual chapters for specific shifts.

Phoenix Design Aid delivered a branding package with visual assets to promote the launch of the report, including web banners, social media cards, a flyer and a PowerPoint template.
